Terms of Service
Effective: June 11, 2026Last updated: August 4, 2026
By creating an account, installing, or using Stack Stitch (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind it. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by StackStitch, currently run by its founding team based in Colombia ("we", "us"); a legal entity is being formed and these Terms will be updated to name it once incorporated. Contact: hello@stackstitch.dev.
2. Eligibility & access
You must be 18 or older and able to form a binding contract. If you connect data belonging to an employer or organization, you represent that you have authority to do so. During early access, use may also be limited by an invite or access allowlist; downloading or installing the app does not guarantee account access.
3. The Service (and its status)
Stack Stitch is currently a macOS desktop app and hosted service. It can connect to Slack, GitHub, Gmail, Notion, Granola, Jira, Sentry, and Stack Stitch Calls and use that context to surface proactive notifications, discussions, call transcripts, summaries, action items, and related insights. The Service is in early access; features, connectors, limits, supported operating systems, and availability may change.
4. Your account
You sign in via Google / Firebase. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access secure. Notify us of any unauthorized use.
5. Connected services & your authority
You may connect third-party services or import data such as Granola meeting transcripts. You are responsible for complying with those services' terms and for having the right and authority to connect, import, and let us process the resulting content, including data about third parties. You can disconnect supported sources, but disconnecting does not necessarily remove already-derived notifications or records unless you also delete them or request deletion. We are not responsible for third-party services, API changes, or availability.
6. Call recording — your responsibility
Stack Stitch may detect a supported call and show a prompt, or you may start recording manually from the Calls workspace. Detection alone does not start recording. Capture begins only after you select Record, and only one capture may be active at a time. Processing may continue after a capture ends without blocking a later permitted recording.
You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable recording, wiretapping, employment, confidentiality, and privacy laws, including obtaining every participant's consent where required. By selecting Record, you represent that you have the necessary authority and consent. The app may use macOS Screen & System Audio Recording permission to capture system audio and periodically read visible participant-name labels from the focused meeting client for speaker attribution. The ordinary call artifact is audio and derived call data, not a screen-video recording.
7. AI, transcription & speaker attribution
The Service uses AI and speech-processing providers to generate notifications, transcripts, summaries, speaker labels, suggested names, action items, and other output. Output may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or misattribute a speaker. It is not professional legal, financial, security, medical, employment, or engineering advice, and you must independently verify important output. Stack Stitch may derive speaker embeddings or voiceprints for consistent speaker labels; they are used for product labeling, not identity authentication.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the Service unlawfully or violate others' rights; connect, import, or record data you are not authorized to process; bypass security, access, plan, billing, or tenant-isolation controls; access another user's data; upload malware or interfere with the Service; reverse-engineer or resell the Service except where law permits it; or systematically extract the Service to build a competing product. We may suspend use that violates these Terms or creates legal, security, abuse, or operational risk.
9. Subscriptions, trial, billing & refunds
- Free trial. New eligible accounts may receive a 14-day free trial. No card is required to start the trial. Eligibility, duration, and included usage may change for future users.
- Paid plan. Stack Stitch Pro is a recurring subscription. Payments are processed by Polar, our Merchant of Record, using payment providers such as Stripe. Polar handles payment collection, invoices, and applicable transaction taxes under its own terms.
- Pricing & changes. Prices are shown at checkout and may change with notice for future billing periods.
- Cancellation. You may cancel anytime via the customer portal; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds. Refunds may be granted within 14 days of the first paid charge if requested by email, except where the law requires otherwise. Renewals are generally non-refundable once the billing period begins.
- Complimentary access. Allowlisted, internal, partner, or promotional access may be provided at our discretion without charge and may change prospectively.
- Usage limits. Plans may include limits for calls, processing, connectors, AI usage, storage, or other features. The product, checkout, or order form will identify applicable allowances.
10. Your content & license to operate
As between you and us, you retain ownership of content you connect, import, record, or create ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, transform, and create derived product data from Your Content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the Service for you, including sending necessary excerpts and call audio to providers described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell Your Content.
We do not use connected-source content, call audio, or transcripts to train our own models. Where provider controls permit, we configure providers not to train on customer content. We may use aggregated or de-identified information to operate, secure, measure, and improve the Service.
11. Our intellectual property
The Service, software, and brand ("Stack Stitch") are owned by us and our licensors. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service; no other rights are granted.
12. Privacy
Your use is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes connected-source, call, screen-label, speaker, analytics, diagnostic, provider, retention, and data-rights processing.
13. Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or product ideas, you authorize us to use them without restriction or compensation. This does not transfer ownership of Your Content or confidential information.
14. Term & termination
You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a Terms violation, security or legal risk, non-payment, misuse, discontinued early-access participation, or discontinuation of the Service. Data handling after termination follows the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
15. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, data preservation, or accuracy, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that AI output, transcripts, speaker labels, notifications, or connected-source data will be complete or correct. Stack Stitch is not a system of record; maintain independent copies of critical information.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill, or data. Our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD 100. Mandatory consumer rights and liabilities that cannot lawfully be limited remain unaffected.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of: your misuse of the Service; your connecting or recording data without authority or consent; your violation of these Terms, applicable law, or third-party rights.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may change the Service and update these Terms as the product, providers, or law changes. We will notify users of material changes through the app, email, or stackstitch.dev. If you do not agree to updated Terms, stop using the Service.
19. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Colombia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Bogotá, Colombia, except where mandatory consumer law gives you other rights.
